More form my favorite place

Dalum Castle Lake… I posted a picture before this post, of the castle which Dalum Castle Lake is named after…. here are some more shots from a lovely walk around the lake.

Different but the same

The mustard fields are springing up yellow everywhere around here. They smell wonderful and they look beautiful against the blue spring sky… or in this case a grey thunder sky.

Mothers Day

I didn’t sleep very well last night (people who know me won’t be surprised, chronic insomnia) but as I laid there sleep not coming to me, I thought of getting up early and surprise my mom with breakfast. I woke up all by myself at 8 am after only sleeping for 3 hours and took a shower, got my son Dylan up, not much to his liking, he’s 16 so he sleeps till 3 pm on weekends if I let him… But after he had a quick shower as well we went and got fresh bread from the bakery and surprised my mom, stepdad and my daughter and nephew who both slept over at their house last night.
To our big surprise  the sun was out and we decided to drive over to Dalum Castle and walk around the lake. It’s a good 1,5 hour walk but the scenery is beautiful and it has board walks, a bird watch tower that over looks the lake and a playground for the kids and the little kids were excited to go so off we went. What a nice way to spend mothers day.

An Orchid for my Birthday

My sister gave this beautiful and very tall Orchid for my Birthday Saturday. I thought it looked photogenic and decided to snap a picture od it against the blue sky.

My Birthday Sky

This was the sky on my cinch de mayo birthday.

After spending the morning with my shopping and making lunch for my best friend and I, we sat in the garden and just watched the clouds roll by. The sun was strong and warm until a cloud passed by and we had to put our sweatshirts back on. Couldn’t resist a shot of the cloud with the sun peaking out from behind.

Spend the rest of the day with my kids and parents and had a wonderful  meal out at the local Italian restaurant.

Sunset wedding

I shot this a few months back when it was still getting dark early and the temps were down around 40f / 4c
The bride was a trouper in her strap dress. Wedding was late in the day and we decided to snap a few pictures with the vintage car out side by the church while the sun was setting, before the reception.

Here are a few snaps from the happy couples wedding day.
